Membership
Joining is a relationship, not a checkout.
If you're 18 or older, you can apply. There is no yearly bill. We ask you to come to orientation, sign a couple of agreements, sit with us as a guest, and let the board take a look. That is how we keep the room kind.
How it goes
Five unhurried steps
We are looking for adults who will keep the Code and treat the room like it belongs to more than themselves.
- Fill out the applicationThe online form. Bring a government photo ID when we ask — we have to know you're 18.
- Come to Public OrientationA meal at a restaurant or café. Any adult can walk in. You buy your own food. We don't charge a door fee.
- Sign the agreementsA liability waiver and a confidentiality promise. They protect you, the other people, the site, and the neighbors.
- Come as a guestSit in on listed nights at guest pricing while we get to know how you are in a room. Hosts notice conduct, not charm.
- The board decidesThey look at whether you showed up, how you treated people, and whether you want the same kind of place we do. Usually one to six months.
What you get
A seat, a say, and a little notice.
- ProgramsMember prices. Classes and workshops $10 (staff free). Hosted evenings $30 for members, $40 for guests, $20 for staff. Prepaid on Zeffy.
- The LodgeYou get directions. You become someone the house expects.
- A voiceIdeas for classes, volunteer hosting, community forums. Not a vote to turn this into a private party.
- A heads-upYou'll hear about nights, special programs, and how the building campaign is going.

Membership FAQ
Is there a membership fee?
No yearly dues. You pay the official prepaid fee for the nights you attend — through Zeffy, before you arrive. Classes and workshops are $10 for members, complimentary for staff. Hosted community evenings are $20 staff · $30 members · $40 guests.
How long does it take?
Usually one to six months, depending on the calendar and how often you come to orientation and guest nights.
What is Public Orientation?
A public hello over a meal. Any adult 18 or older can come. You buy your own food. We don't charge at the door.
Can I come before I'm a member?
Yes. After you apply and complete orientation, you can attend some nights as a guest while the board reads your application.
What about kids?
Adult programs are 18+. Family Days welcome children with the adult who brings them. That adult stays responsible.
What if someone breaks the Code?
The board may talk it through, pause a membership, or end it. Harassment, discrimination, violence, and safety problems are not a debate.
Will you put my name or the address online?
No. Members promise confidentiality. We don't publish The Lodge on a map. Don't record people without asking.
