Membership

A process, not a purchase

Adults 18 and older may apply. There is no annual dues charge. Orientation, signed agreements, guest participation, and board review sit between first contact and full membership. That is how we keep programs educational and the room accountable.

Application Process

Five steps

Membership is not automatic. The board is looking for adults who will keep the Code of Conduct and treat education as the purpose of the room.

  1. Submit the applicationComplete the online form. A government-issued photo ID is required for age verification.
  2. Attend Public OrientationAn open introduction at a local restaurant or café. Any adult 18+ may come. You buy your own food. LASC does not charge a door fee.
  3. Sign the agreementsA liability waiver and a confidentiality agreement before member programs. These protect participants, the site, and neighboring residents.
  4. Participate as a guestAttend a minimum number of listed programs at guest pricing while the application is under review. Hosts observe conduct, not personality.
  5. Board reviewThe board reviews engagement, conduct, and alignment with the educational purpose. Typical timeline: one to six months, depending on the calendar and your attendance.

Questions

Membership FAQ

Is there a membership fee?

No annual dues. You pay the published program fee for sessions you attend. Classes are $10 for members and $15 for guests.

How long does review take?

Typically one to six months from application to a board decision, depending on the calendar and your attendance at Public Orientation and guest programs.

What is Public Orientation?

An open, public introduction at a restaurant or café. It is the first in-person step. Any adult 18 or older may attend. You purchase your own food and beverages.

Can I attend before I am a member?

Yes. After you apply and complete Public Orientation, you may attend selected programs as a guest at guest pricing while the board reviews your application.

What are the age rules?

Adult programs are 18+. Family Days are the only line that includes children, and those children remain in the care of the adult who brought them.

What happens if I break the Code of Conduct?

The board may coach, suspend, or remove a member. Harassment, discrimination, violence, and safety violations are not tolerated.

Is my privacy protected?

Members sign a confidentiality agreement. We do not publish the Lodge address on the public website. Recording without permission is not allowed.
