At a Glance
Public purpose, measurable work
Funders and community partners can review LASC as an education-first nonprofit: a regular public program calendar, low participation fees, volunteer leadership development, and a capital campaign to purchase a permanent community facility.

Who We Serve
Adults seeking structured community
We serve adults 18 and older in the Hudson Valley and across the Northeast who want practical education and a well-run place to participate. Guests may attend selected programs after orientation. Full members complete an application and board review.
Participation is governed by a published Code of Conduct. Harassment, discrimination, and safety violations are not tolerated. The education center address is shared with registered participants to protect attendees and neighboring residents.
Community Education Center
The Lodge — Hudson Valley, New York
The Lodge is LASC’s current program site: classroom, workshop, and gathering space used for adult education. We are raising funds to purchase a permanent, community-owned facility so programming is not dependent on a landlord.
A longer-range plan, LASC-ETMR, would add a multi-day education campus in Eastern Tennessee. The Hudson Valley facility is the immediate priority and the financial foundation for that later work.
Access and Affordability
Program fees, not membership dues
There is no annual membership fee. Participants contribute a modest program fee so operations stay sustainable and income is not a barrier. As a nonprofit, proceeds cover program costs only.
